Spirit Week returns to Muirfield

Students participating in Spirit Week

Spirit Week is a week of fun activities organised by the Student Representative Council.  The festivities promote community spirit and engagement for both staff and students.

Activities include a trivia quiz, theme day, bake stall and talent quest. This year saw students dressing up in their favourite 1980s and 1990s fashion, whilst teachers were challenged to dress-up in ‘teen’ fashion. Erika, from Year 10, (pictured above) won the Talent Quest’s ‘best dressed’ category for dressing up as her favourite artist from the nineteen eighties, David Bowie.

The Talent Quest is the highlight of the Spirit Week. Varun, from Year Nine, dazzled audiences with his masterclass mathematic skills, taking out first prize.

One of the Talent Quest participants, Charlize from Year 11, said, “It was exciting to see how engaged and excited the audience were with their clapping and shouts of encouragement.” She said that Talent Quest concert gives students the space to showcase their diverse talents in a comfortable environment in front of their peers.

Mr. Moon and the SRC should be commended for their efforts and organisation of the week’s festivities.
