Could you write two books in 8 hours? What if you had to work with a team?
This term, 14 students from Years 7-10 rose to the challenge. They wrote and illustrated two entire books as part of the Write a Book in a Day competition to raise funds for The Kids’ Cancer Project.
Writing a book in a day is the ultimate test of teamwork, challenging writers to create something great within a set time. Teams in different schools were given unique parameters for their story for their chosen writing day, ensuring that no one gets a head start! Books from the competition will be sent to hospitals across Australia for children and their families to enjoy.
Our teams raised over $3500 for The Kids' Cancer Project. This is enough money to fund a gene panel analysis for 72 children or 62 hours of research on childhood cancer treatments.
A fantastic day and an incredible effort by our students and community!
